 Preparing to get married in the Catholic Church

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! The sacrament of marriage is one that brings great blessings to you, to your family and friends, and the Church. We are excited to help you build a Sacramental Marriage!

The Archdiocese of Denver requires an 8-month planning time prior to the wedding. The preparation includes completing a FOCCUS Inventory of your relationship, Natural Family Planning, and the Marriage Prep Program. Learn more about the process by clicking the button below.

Weddings at St. John the Evangelist

The wedding packet. When you schedule your wedding at St. John’s, you will receive an information packet that details all of the policies, procedures, and expectations for having your wedding at St. John’s. A few of them are listed here.

  • After speaking with our Deacon, please schedule your wedding at least 8 months in advance. Contact the parish office to schedule.

  • Weddings can be held at St. John’s on any day of the week, but they are usually on Saturdays at 1:00pm.

  • The cost to have your wedding at St. John’s starts at $800 and includes the use of the Sanctuary, bridal room, bathrooms, and appointed wedding coordinator. A deposit of $200 is required to reserve the date. Additional costs may include stipends to the priest or deacon, sacristan, sound board operator, altar servers, musicians, or others.

Annulments/Remarrying

If you are divorced, you will need to get an annulment in order to get remarried in the Catholic church. There are a lot of misunderstandings about annulments, but the process is about healing and restoring the Sacraments. If you need an annulment, we can help!
